Retractable door screens provide privacy and insect protection for entry doors while allowing natural light and airflow. Common types include screens for French doors, sliding patio doors, front doors, screened storm doors, and more. Motorized door screens retract vertically or horizontally into housings above or beside the doorway.

French Door Retractable Screens

Retractable screens for French doors usually have two screen panels that part in the middle and stack or retract to the sides when opened. This allows easy access in and out of French doors while keeping bugs out when closed. The screens fully retract into housings on either side of the doorway.

Alternatively, at SPF Screens & Awnings, we offer vertical screens. Rather than installing the housing into your door frame, we’ll mount it above your doors and have the screens roll down over your doors. 

Sliding Door Retractable Screens

Normally retractable screens for sliding glass doors roll horizontally on tracks at the head and sill of the door. The screen panels stack or pocket at one side when retracted. This allows the sliding door to open freely without removing the screens.

Retractable screens, also known as solar screens or roll up screens, are movable screens that can be extended to cover an opening like a window or door, then retracted or rolled up when not needed. They provide privacy, shade, and protection from insects when in use.

Then scrub gently with soapy water and rinse. Avoid using harsh cleaners or abrasives. You should allow your screens to dry fully before retracting.
